Entertainment
This cute little entertainment center was gone and had been reworked when we purchased the trailer. In it's place was a hideous desk that my wife demanded be destroyed and burned at once. I regretfully did not get photos of it.
The deck was mounted on a cabinet door in the old desk, along with a 110 outlet and a 12 volt outlet. The cabinet door was all I salvaged from the desk and I temporarily mounted it on the wall. After careful consideration, we decided that the entertainment center was poorly planned and placed. We determined it would be far better if it was located on the wall next to the slide and a recliner was put in its place.
Once I decided to move the entertainment center, I had to disassemble the old setup and put all the wires back in the wall. The only problem I ran into were four romex wires, running over the top of the fender. I cut into the floor to recess them but directly under the plywood, was a piece of sheet metal followed by air. I was forced to leave them on the surface, but I drastically reduced the height of the board covering them.
Once I had all the wires put in the wall, had to put the radio somewhere. I decided to scrap the outdated deck and replace it with a top of the line kenwood car stereo. The kenwood can bluetooth or directly connect an iphone or android, route calls over the speakers, and play music from a usb drive. I moved it to the back of the camper, next to the microwave. Don't worry, the microwave is being used as a medicine cabinet.
I wanted to mount a flat screen so that my little one would not pull it over and injure herself. I also needed to secure my refrigerator. We decided to build two walls that would support the weight of a flat screen and contain the refrigerator, in one stroke. I covered up the window with insulation and built two frames outside. I brought them in and attached each with four screws, two screwed into the roof rafters and two into the floor. They really didn't need to be screwed in because they fit in very tight. I then put the paneling on and finish nailed it in. If the next owner wants it out, the wall can be removed without a trace, in 15 minutes. I needs to be stained, to be called complete.
